The Desk is off to the races for 2023. Our reporters completed big stories over the holidays, and we're already busy planning our next projects – on issues like sludge fertilizer, threats to drinking water, carbon pipelines and the possibility of shipping water from the Mississippi River basin to the drought-stricken West.

We're also putting together a reporters' workshop on collaborative coverage of watersheds for the Society of Environmental Journalists annual conference in Boise, Idaho, this coming April. We'd love to see you at the conference! Click here for information on sponsorships and exhibits, or reply to this email if you want to know more.

Remember, the Ag & Water Desk's stories are always free for news outlets to republish. We hope to recruit many more newsrooms to join our network this year. Reply here if you know an outlet that you think would benefit from access to our work, or simply send them this sign-up form. Thanks for your support!
